10.2.2. The Formation of the EM Wave

Light, radio waves and X-rays are described in physics as electromagnetic waves. The Mechanism investigates how this regularity may originate in the Experience Circle: the relationship between CHANGE, SENSATION, reading and new KNOWING.

The starting point is the distinction between what is understood and what is not yet understood. KNOWING consists of established SEPARATIONS and the MEANINGS that understand their organisation. Between attractors there are INTERSPACES — relations that have not yet been understood. These give rise to new impulses and readings.

The manifest impulse is thus a “shadow” of THE INTERSPACE. The understood content of KNOWING is not transferred to the manifest side. It is what remains unresolved that appears as SENSATION and becomes the subject of reading through the Experience Circle. The reading concludes with THE SENSATION being nulled, while a new SEPARATION is established in KNOWING.

This establishment changes the relational landscape. In THE SOURCE, the subsequent course is determined by geometry: from each current perspective, the nearest unread relation is read. In the emergence bands, the patterns are understood through Attractor Dynamics, AE. What is understood becomes part of the foundation for everything that follows.

Here, The Mechanism seeks the origin of electromagnetic dynamics. An established SEPARATION has a polar orientation. New SEPARATIONS change the geometric conditions for further reading. Some courses lead HOME and produce local closure, while others lead further OUT and create new, fragmented relations. Everything established is preserved.

The working hypothesis is that electrical properties arise from this oriented organisation, while magnetism originates in the impulse side of the reading process. The orthogonal relationship of THE FOCAL GAZE to the impulse is a possible link to the directional structure of electromagnetism. The specific connection between these relationships and the E and B fields of physics is still being derived.

It would therefore be premature to say that an electromagnetic wave simply alternates between “understanding” and “sensation”, or that E and B have already been identified with the respective sides of the Experience Circle. The task is to show how the primitive course of reading establishes an organisation that appears as an electromagnetic wave.

In The Mechanism, energy is understood through CHANGE. More changes entail more impulses and readings. Frequency and energy are therefore sought to be explained through the same fundamental process. How this relationship gives rise to the specific quantities and laws of electromagnetism must emerge from the further derivation.
